It is hard to believe that the SLA 2014 Conference is less than a week away! This is a quick reminder of the Managing Primary Research session being sponsored by the Advertising and Marketing Section of the Business & Finance Division on Tuesday, June 10th from 11:00am – 12:00pm. The featured speaker is Belle Frank, Global Director of Strategy & Research, Young & Rubicam.

Belle has vast experience across many consumer categories and currently oversees all of Y&R wellness strategic initiatives. She is recognized in the industry as having great expertise in communications research.

In her 25+ years with the agency, Belle has worked with nearly all Y&R clients. Beginning in 1993, she was part of the small team assigned to develop the agency’s BrandAsset® Valuator (BAV) model.

Belle has a BA in French from Tufts and holds a Master’s from the Harvard School of Education where she studied human development and the effects of communication. She teaches in the City University of NY Masters in Branding & Integrated Communications and is an active member of the Advertising Research Foundation.

Belle published a book this year, The Advertising On-Ramp, that speaks to the new generation of marketing communications talent and lectures frequently about it. She co-authored several pieces published in Admap including, “Reinventing Qualitative Research” (February, 2007) and “Brand Strategies for an Economic Downturn” (September, 2008). She received an Advertising Women of New York, Trailblazing Working Mother of the Year award in 2007.

Her talk will address the following questions:

  • What are the secondary research needs of marketing communications professionals?

  • How can SLA members be more helpful to marketing communications professionals?
